My heart flew out there with John Glenn
\nat fourteen years of age.
\nThus dawned a time of Greater Men.
\nThe moon became a stage.
\nAs millions watched it, blurred and pale,
\nwith fear and awe and pride,
\nI hid my burning face to veil my jealousy inside.<\/p>\n

Monday\u2019s child is fair of face. . .<\/strong><\/p>\n

But space was far. My dreams stayed seeds.
\nI chose to teach the young
\nof little lives and humble deeds,
\nof history unsung,
\nand, doing so, I shared the fate
\nof ordinary men,
\nyet still, on every launching date
\nI yearned and ached again.<\/p>\n

And then, one day, the seed took root.
\nA challenge sang with might
\nto a blissful, flustered new recruit
\nwho felt her dreams take flight.
\nAt last, space seemed in Small Man\u2019s reach;
\nthrough me, we all would go.
\nThe teacher learned, the more to teach
\nof what the stars would show.

The engines roar and thunder I\u2019m pressed down by four G.<\/em>
\nI blaze in fear and wonder through a sky I cannot see.<\/em>
\nGo tell my son, my daughter, their mom is flying far<\/em>
\nby the one thing life has taught her:<\/em>
\nAlways – – –<\/em>
\n– – – reach for the stars. . .<\/em><\/p>\n

\nI\u2019ve touched the future. I have taught
\nTuesday\u2019s child is full of grace,<\/strong>
\nand I am teaching still,
\nWednesday\u2019s child is full of woe,<\/strong>
\nof journeys done in truth or thought,
\nThursday\u2019s child has far to go.<\/strong>
\nof dreams they can instill,
\nMonday\u2019s child is fair of face,<\/strong>
\nof prices paid and wishes won,
\nTuesday\u2019s child is full of grace,<\/strong>
\nof an eagerness to grow.

\nI sowed the seed. I took the lead.
